597 years ago on 15 July 1410, on the battlefield of Grunwald, the united Polish, Lithuanian and Ruthenian forces under King Ladislaus Jagiello routed the Teutonic Knights who had been a threat to both Poland and Lithuania.   Our Corporation took the name from this historic event.
In 1878 Jan Matejko painted  The Battle of Grunwald, which recalled one of the most important events in Polish history, the defeat of the power of the Teutonic Knights.
